Hécula organic monastrell 2019
For more than 20 years, Hécula Monastrell has been dressing the tables, extolling the most special celebrations and looking proud of its origin on the shelves of wine bars around the world, but for the first time, and we hope that for a long time, this year we present the new Hécula Organic Monastrell 2019.
A fruity and juicy wine that, as always, rests in French and American oak barrels for a slightly period of six months. The spicy notes are harmoniously assembled with ripe red fruit aromas to offer an elegant and subtle toast on the nose. The identity seal of this iconic brand for Bodegas Castaño is still present in this wine, the origin of the grapes from organic vineyards and the distinctive stamp that accredits on its label, do provide added value to this organic wine without losing its personality.
The age of these organic Monastrell vineyards which are used to produce this wine, are 40 years old. Those vineyards carefully treated with products that are totally respectful of the environment from their origin have allowed their passage to organic certification. Its geographical location, in the north side of Yecla, at an altitude of about 750 m above sea level, and low rainfalls contribute to make these vineyards organic in a natural way. The limestone and stony soils on which these vines emerge, collect the heat from long hours of sunshine that we enjoy in the southwest, and the little rain is quickly drained to the subsoil.
All these vineyards are harvested by hand in late September, reaching at the winery the grapes in the best conditions for its processing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks for subsequent passage through oak barrels.
