Two Castaño wines awarded in Korea

Francisca Santa (Castaño founder’s mother) has named two of our best wines: Casa Cisca (for her name) and Santa (for her surname). Santa wine has captured her strong personality with a blend of 90% Monastrell and 10% Garnacha Tintorera, the two native grape varieties in this area, along with 10 months aging in both French and American oak barrels. This provides hints of ripe fruit and spice. Santa wine has recently been awarded with a silver medal in the most prestigious wine competition in Korea: the Korea Wine Challenge 2018.

Last year, the Korea Wine Challenge 2017 awarded Hecula with a gold medal which contributed to promote this wine to the top and best-selling wines in Korea, along with interviews and feature articles in specialised media about the high quality of Hecula: the most iconic wines in Castaño winery.

Daniel Castaño, Director of Export at Castaño, says that “all these awards are a recognition of the work we have been doing for generations, and it encourages us to continue with the satisfaction of knowing that we succeeded in creating high quality Monastrell wines that are appreciated for consumers worldwide’.
