Talking about Monastrell grape variety and red wines from Yecla, is talk about Bodegas Castaño.

This article from Berto Monteblanco (todovino), appeared last  August the 10th on the digital newspaper “Vanitatis. El Confidencial.”, talks about Bodegas Castaño and three of its red wines: GSM, Hécula and Solanera. Three good value for money red wines.

GSM 2014. This young red wine, it is elegant and easy to drink, a blend of Garnacha tintorera, Syrah and Monastrell.

Hécula 2014. A powerful wine elaborated with 100% Monastrell grapes. A wine placed as one of the best value for money wines in the country.

Solanera 2013. A rather new wine on the national market, although appeared over ten years as a proyect between Bodegas Castaño and the American distributor. Most of it made with Monastrell blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha tintorera.
